Curating

My approach to curating and the way I relate to artists are shaped by my own artistic practice. That is why I like to describe myself as an artist on the other side of the fence. Care and good professional practices are fundamental to my work, from respecting creative processes to ensuring fair working conditions and building relationships based on trust.

My interest in performance art began during my years of study in the United Kingdom, where I studied photography and explored other artistic languages. Performance studies, feminisms and body politics later influenced my approach to curating. In 2018, at the invitation of Javier Varillas, then director of the Valladolid International Festival of Theatre and Street Arts (TAC), I developed and curated ArteVA, a new section dedicated to performance art, in 2018 and 2019. In the latter year, I received the Estación Norte Award, whose jury recognised my work “for her ability to select disturbing and beautiful proposals, capable of forging a distinctive identity within TAC”.

In 2020, I founded Territori, Ibiza international performance art festival, an independent project combining an international artistic programme with a commitment to the local and Balearic cultural scene, mediation and professional exchange. In 2024, I curated the first edition of Patio, a Live Arts Encounter for  the Regional Government of Andalusia in Málaga. My curatorial practice encompasses both self-initiated projects and commissions and collaborations with institutions and festivals.
